Left destitute
on the death of their father, the Nickleby family are forced to give up a life
of contentment in the countryside. The ensuing
adventures take Nicholas all over, from Devon to Dotheboys Hall in Yorkshire,
via a chance encounter with a troupe of strolling players. This is a tale of
twists and turns, ups and downs, cruelty and hardship, but also friendship,
kindness and love.

Ralph get his comeuppance? Will there be romance along the way? Will Smike
remember all his lines?
